Brokens Bonds – The Bonds That Tie By J Bree Book Review

Broken Bonds By J. Bree series review

Hello, my name is Bliss, and I’m addicted to this series. J Bree dives into everyone’s dirty fantasies and I’m here for it. I didn’t know I needed 5 men lusting after one girl in my life, but here we are. If you’ve ever had a dirty fantasy then I’m pretty sure J Bree will have written it for you.

I’ve never read a reverse harem romance, but I sure have been missing out. You know how one of the biggest appeals in a romance series is the excitement of waiting for the leads to get together? Well, with this series you have this with five different guys, so the excitement just keeps going. She also dangles an orgy in front of you, and luckily eventually delivers.

Broken Bonds Series

After the death of my mother and her Bonded, I was relieved to find my own Bonds. I was sure everything would be okay if I had them.
It wasn’t. The fate of our people is in my hands and I know we’re better off if I’m alone. After five years on the run, I’m caught and dragged back to face the men I ran away from. I thought I was doing the right thing. Now, I’m not so sure. North, Nox, Gryphon, Atlas, and Gabe may never forgive me but one thing is for sure. I won’t ever forgive myself.

*Broken Bonds is a full length reverse harem PNR novel with material that may be difficult for some readers. This book will end on a cliffhanger. It’s recommended for 18+ due to language and sexual situations.

Broken Bonds Series Review

This series is five stars for sex appeal, for ease of reading, for grabbing you by the throat and not letting you go until you’ve gulped all 6 books down. I’m a mum so I have no time to read, but I still managed to fly through all 6 books within 6 days! This involved reading while I hid in the kitchen or bathroom, I even caught myself reading it while hiding behind the fridge door!

This series has so much gratuitous drama. There are enemies to lovers at the beginning. All the men are overprotective, there’s jealousy, there’s touch her and die, there’s fated mates kind of vibes. It’s all over the top, dramatic, smutty fun. You don’t pick this up for great literature, you pick this up for great sex, fun, and drama.

The smut is great. It’s probably the spiciest series I’ve read so far. Sometimes I can get tired of books that have sex scenes all the time, but I did not get tired of this. Probably because there were five gorgeous men, and multiple threesoms, orgies, and magical sexcapades. I even felt a bit miffed when she jumped over the orgy I saw coming at the end. Excuse me Miss Bree, where’s the climax!

These books definitely could have used more time in editing though. There were clunky, awkward bits. Lots of paragraphs that just weren’t needed and telling us over and over again about things we already knew. The powers of the main character, Oleander were also too strong. It didn’t make sense when she couldn’t just slay hundreds of people sometimes, she needed more of a realistic weakness to trot out when it was needed. Also, she was always wearing their sweatshirts even though I’m pretty sure it wasn’t cold where they were (is this because aircon is a big thing in the States?).

Look, there were many things wrong, but there were so many things right that I just didn’t care. I loved losing myself in this trashy, smutty series. It’s escapism at its finest!

Books 1 and 6 were 4/5 stars and books 2-5 were 5/5 stars.
